Breeding and Application of Hybrid Maize, Biyu 1

WU Xue zhong 1, PAN Guo yuan 1, ZHAO En xue 2, DU Wan fu 2(1.Seed Company of Bijie Prefecture, Guizhou 551700; 2. Seed Company of Qianxi County, Guizhou 551500, China)  
Biyu 1, an interlinear hybrid maize, proved by the Committee of Crop Variety Examination of Bijie Prefecture in 1999, was bred from the introduced inbred line, A318♀ and 49♂ in 1991. This combination shows high yield, good quality, strong disease resistance and wide adaptability in recent years identification. The total extension area is up to 6923.4 ha,and increased by 7311.9 ton of maize and 6.5807 million yuan of product value up to 2000.
