In this paper,the authors analyze internal forces of a soil nail system during excavation using FLAC3D.Based on excavation and supporting conditions of soil nail structures,the internal force distribution patterns weredetermined.In addition,axial force and shear stress of the soil nail were evaluated.The experimental data matchwell with the computational results from FLAC3D,which allows one to gain a better understanding of interaction ofnails and soil.
