Response analysis on mean wind force of typical power transmission towers

The wind loading is critical to power transmission tower design.In this manner,the tower is typically designed as a spatial truss structure with a complicatedly-structured top.As such,theoretical methods cannot be accurately applied to analyze the wind loading and its response.In this study,a wind tunnel testing is first proposed using a segmental rigid model of transmission towers.Then,the finite element models are established for two typical tower structures.Next,the wind tunnel testing data are used as mean wind loading,and therein relevant displacement responses are obtained.Afterwards,the response results from two tower structures are analyzed and compared based on the above-mentioned tower structures.Finally,some conclusions are drawn with regard to the response from mean wind loading.
