CFD wind loading analysis on twin-girder-structured cranes

Referring to the Design Standards for Cranes(GB/T3811—2008),the wind loading on overlapped multiple leaf structure is commonly converted using the decreased anti-wind coefficient.Thus for variably-sectional structure,the computational accuracy between standard and actual values remains problematic.Though digital wind tunnel(DWT) and computational fluid dynamics(CFD),the leeward box of multiple leaf structure is enforced by the direct momentum of air flow.Due to flow field turbulence,the variation of fluid pressure field results in the of structural pressure difference.Accordingly,the interaction between structure and fluid can even redirect wind loading.Therefore,the in-depth wind loading analysis and computation are conducted on the frequently-applied twin-girder.By comparing computational results with various national standards,the structural loading is efficiently detected in the wind field.
