Dynamic Classifications of Complex Surrounding Rocks in Hydraulic Tunnelling

Shenxigou hydraulic tunnel engineering is the affiliated engineering of CGC(China Guodian Corporation) Shenxigou hydropower station in Dadu River.Taking it as an example, the structure characteristics of the hydraulic tunnel with complex surrounding rock mass is analyzed and the dynamic classification techniques for the rock mass which is in construction is studied through the methods of thin section identification, discontinuity network simulation, sound wave measurement and chemical thermodynamics evaluation. The study purpose is to provide the simple and effective methods and data to the classification of the surrounding rock mass in complex geological conditions.
