Electrical methods applied for road failures fine detection

In loess area,adverse geological defects such as ground fissures,loess potholes,loess landslides and so on pose a great threat on the highway's construction and its safe operation.Resistivity method has a good basis for geological defects detection.High-density resistivity method has been the main surface detection methods for the flexibility of dense data collection.In this paper,resistivity survey configurations such as dipole-dipole,multiple gradient array and five poles electrical sounding are discussed,based on the numerical simulation,the physical simulation and the work of engineering practice.The results show that survey arrays have different resolution and the induced polarization(IP) information contributes to the resolution of the geological defects,so the application of dual-frequency IP method is an effective detection method for it can obtain high-precision resistivity and IP information.
