Sliding-mode Control of High Buildings Based on the Free Accelerating Reaching Law and Its Robustness Analysis

Based on the accelerating reaching law, a method of mode-sliding control is presented in this paper. The seismic response of multi-freedom system is investigated in numerical simulation. The performance and robustness of control based on the technique proposed in this paper is compared with the control based on the LQR control principle. The simulation and the analysis demonstrate that the performance and robustness of control principle put forward in this paper is better than the control based on the LQR law. The results indicate that the seismic response is diminished effectively and the robustness of the control is remarkable.This control strategy can be applied in the buildings practically.
