Parameter Study on the Displacement of Corridor Flexiblely-connecting Twin-tower under Stochastic Seismic Excitation

The transfer function and RMS of displacement for corridor which is flexiblely connecting twin-tower and excited with stochastic seismic are deduced based on 3-DOF model.The numerical parameter analysis is applied,the variables include mass ratios between towers and of corridor to tower, frequency ratios of corridor to tower and between towers,the damping ratios of two corridor's supports,and the stochastic excitation includes white noise and Kanai-Tajimi spectrum.For symmetric towers structure,the basic principles are same with tuned mass damper structure,but different strategy should be adopted,e.g.the frequencies of corridor and of the tower should keep away to avoid resonance,the damping ratio of corridor's supports and the mass ratio of corridor to tower should be increased.For asymmetric structure,the towers drive the corridor asynchronously,the corridor's frequency should keep away to that of any tower,and by adjusting the ratios between two corridor-supports' stiffness,even relative displacements of two supports can be achieved.
