EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE INFLUENCE OF ACID RAIN ON THE COMPRESSIVE BEHAVIORS OF RECYCLED AGGREGATE CONCRETE SOLID BRICK MASONRY

In order to study the effect of acid rain on the compressive behaviors of recycled aggregate concrete solid brick masonry, this paper conducted the spray-light cycle accelerated corrosion test and the axial compression test for 32 identical specimens in artificial atmosphere environment. The compressive strength, damage mode, elastic modulus and stress-strain curves were analyzed with the increase of the number of spray-light cycle. The results indicate that the specimens after acid rain corrosion are associated with smaller cracking load, earlier initiation of cracking, and more severe damage. The slope of stress-strain curve and elastic modulus gradually decrease with the increase of spray-light cycles, while the compressive strength increases at the early stage before the decreasing at the latter stage. After 300 spray-light cycles, the compressive strength decreases by 29% and the elastic modulus decreases by 42%.
