RESEARCH ON THE FORCED CONVECTIVE HEAT TRANSFER FOR FLUID FLOW THROUGH POROUS MEDIA WITH INTERNAL HEAT SOURCE

To check the thermal equilibrium assumption between solid matrix and fluid in porousmedia with internal heat source, the forced convection in channels filled with packed bedswith heat generation was analyzed numerically with the extended Darcy model for flow andthe two energy equations in which the thermal equilibrium assumption is released. Thetemperature difference between the matrix and fluid was dicussed with three dimensionlessparameters (Rep, H/dr and ks/kf). It can be concluded that, one energy equation basedon the thermal equilibrium may be adopted for situations when the conduction of soliddominates over the covection of fluid or when convective heat transfer coefficient bewteenthe two phases is high at large Rep. The variation of Nusselt number at the wall with Repfor differeds ks/kf was also investigated.
