SIMULATION ON AXIAL TRANSPORT AND DISPERSION OF MSW IN ROTARY KILN

A novel particulate trajectory model (PTM) is developed to simulate axial transport and dispersion, namely detailed residence time distribution, of MSW in a rotary kiln. The model originality lie in: (1) the vector analysis takes place of Saeman's geometry analysis to determine particle's rolling trajectory in a single exctirsion; (2) the segregation characteristics of MSW is incorporated into random PTM in terms of factor. Reasonable agreement is obtained between simulated results and experimental ones.
