THE OUTSIDE TUBE HEAT TRANSFER PERFORMANCE OF THE DISCRETE DOUBLE INCLINED RIBS TUBE

The outside tube heat transfer performance of the discrete double inclined ribs(DDIR) tube was experimentally and numerically studied.Due to the inclined dimple on the outside surface of the DDIR tube,longitudinal vortex formed in the annuli composed of a DDIR tube and a smooth tube.Compared with a smooth annuli,the heat transfer is enhanced 50% and the pressure drop is increased 60%~70% at Reynolds numbers between 30,000 and 90,000.
