SRSS Strategy and Model of South-to-North Water Transfer Supply Chain Based on VMI Contract

The South-to-North Water Transfer Project is an essential project aiming at solving the serious problem of water shortage in Northern China.VMI contract reallocates the decision rights of inventory management between the suppliers and the buyers,which can attain the goal of "communication and coordination".This paper illustrates the exact attribute of the South-to-North Water Transfer supply chain by using water tank conception model and designs the VMI system of this supply chain.The SRSS model is built under VMI contract with leadtime, through which datum with different parameters and the long-term average overall cost created by the implementation of strategies are obtained by numerical simulation,and the trend of long-term average cost is described as well.This study provides a technical support for and insight into strategy selection and decision making of the South-to-North Water Transfer supply chain.
