A Comparison of Temporal-spatial Distributions of Dust Haze under New and Old Observational Criteria

A comparative analysis was performed on temporal-spatial distributions of dust haze in Guangdong under new and old observational criteria.The distribution of the haze day under new criteria proves to be more reasonable than under the old one,and hence reveals the correlations between the haze-day trends and the economical development as well as the atmospheric environmental quality in Guangdong.Since subjective factors still exist in the new standard,it is recommended that atmospheric aerosol condensation data be adopted into the new standard to help distinguish haze,light fog and fog,which will benefit the statistics of the haze weather events and the popularity of the new observational criteria.
