State-of-art and development of fault diagnostic technology for large steam turbo-units

Nowadays,many monitoring systems for diversified large steam turbounits in China are backward and faulty. In this paper,the stateofart and development of state monitoring and fault diagnosis for large steam turbounits at home and abroad are reviewed. The researches on fault diagnosis are described in terms of fault mechanism,the techniques of fault information processing,fault source separation and location as well as intelligent diagnosis. The development of fault diagnostic system and vibration signal analyzing technique are included. It is indicated that the research on fault mechanism and its application to fault diagnostic system can enable timely detection of early latent faults,thus improving the operation safety and reliability of large units.
