Function disposition and control principle of security and stability control system for Guangdong power grid

Along with the electricity delivered from west China to Guangdong increasing continuously, and the load of Guangdong power grid growing swiftly, serious failures in either the exterior power lines inputting or interior important 500 kV lines or main transformers of Guangdong grid may lead to grave stability problems in China's southern grid and Guangdong grid. As a solution, the security and stability control system for Guangdong power grid has been constructed. In this paper, the current overall disposition, system function and control principle of the system are described. The successful operation of the system can prevent power grid failures from occurring and getting worse, so as to improve the safe and economic running of power grid.
