Optical system design of new-type joint transform correlator

The optical system structure of traditional joint transform correlator uses single optical path feedback, it couldn’t realize real-time identification, and volume is large. To improve its performance, a joint transform correlator with double optical path is developed. The main characteristic of the designed optical system is that Fourier transforms lens and collimating and beam expanding system uses the same lens. Test result shows that the correlation point is detected distinctly. Furthermore, volume of developed joint transform correlator is smaller than before.
