Study on the Process of Electrochemical Oxidation of Refractory Organic o-Nitrophenol

The process and mechanism of anodic oxidation of the refractory organic o nitrophenol is studied in this paper.The results of experiments show the concentration of o nitrophenol decreases from 200g/L to less than 1 mg/L in 2h with self made PbO 2 anode of 1cm 2 at the current density of 30mA/cm 2 in 200mL alkaline solution of pH=10 containing phenol.COD removal ratio reaches 10%.BOD/COD ratio amount ot 0.63 .The process is simple in operation and make no more new pollution.
