Spectrophotometric Determination of Boron(Ⅲ) in Oilfields by Flow Injection Analysis

In an ammonium acetate solution of pH 7.2, boron(Ⅲ) reacts with 4-hydroxyazomehine-H to form a 1:2 yellow complex which had a maximum absorption peak at 420 nm. The reaction could completed within 90 min and the absorbance of the complex remains maximum and almost constanted at least for 48 h under a temperature range from 0 to 35 ℃ Optimization of chemical and FI variables has been made. Under the optimized conditions ,the calibration curve obtained were linear over the rage 0.02～10 mg/mL,the detection limit was 2 μg/L(3σ),and the precision (RSD=1.02, n=11). The proposed method was successfully applied to determine boron(Ⅲ) in oilfields and plants.
