Polycarbonate/Rare Earth Fluorescent Resin for White LED

Two kinds of white LEDs were assembled by fluorescent silica gel and fluorescent resin, the color temperature, color rendering index, and luminous efficacy of white LEDs were studied and compared. The results show that the crystal structure of fluorescent powder 0754 was destroyed during extrusion process,leading to the luminous efficacy decrease for fluorescent resin compare to fluorescent silica get. The crystal structure of fluorescent powder YAG-5 was kept good during extrusion process, with the good distribute in fluorescent resin, the white LEDs have good performance. When YAG-5 content is 30 wt%, thickness of fluorescent resin is 0.2 mm, the white LEDs have the best luminous efficacy, and it still show good working condition after 5000 h service.
