Application of ICP-OES in the Study of Corrosion Inhibitor Screening for Water-based Aerosol

By microwave digestion procedure with HNO3/H2O2 to prepare sample, the iron and tin elements in water-based aerosol product were detected by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer(ICP –OES). The recovery of standard addition about iron element and tin element is 97.0%~101.8% and 97.8%~103.0% respectively, the relative standard deviation about iron element and tin element is 1.45% and 1.67% respectively. The iron and tin elements in water based aerosol samples by 15 days storage at 50℃ were detected by ICP –OES. At the same time, the corrosion situation of corresponding samples by 60 days storage at 50℃ was observed. These results showed that the corrosion situation of water based aerosol was effectively reflected by detecting iron and tin elements using ICP –OES, which means that ICP –OES can be used for rapid screening of corrosion inhibitor in water-based aerosol.
