Exploration of Underground Springs in Jinan City and its Impact on Metro Construction

During the process of exploring underground springs in Jinan city and evaluating its impact on metro construction,the transient electromagnetic method(TEM)is applied,which could effectively reduce the ambient noise and improve the inversion accuracy.According to the resistivity changes with depth,the underground geological structure can be classified into three categories:the shallow highresistance layer,the middle stone/sandstone low-resistance aquifer,and the deep bedrock high-resistance layer.The bedrock is embedded deeper in the western and central areas of the city,while shallower in the eastern,northern and southern parts.However,the shallow geological structure is more complex,its stratigraphic thickness is unevenly distributed,where the faults may be possibly connected to deep aquifers or karst caves.Therefore,the metro construction must take precautions against these risks.
