The Minimum Mean-square Error Estimation Technology of Optical Intensity

LI Zhen, YANG Kai (The Engineering Institute , Air Force Engineering University, Xi'an 710038, China)  
The signal intensity needs to be estimated in on-off keying direct detection optical communication system, the minimum mean-square error estimation technology was proposed, the maximum likelihood estimation through simulation was compared. The results show that the proposed estimator outperformed maximum likelihood estimator for weak turbulence.
