Study on the Fruit Oil Content of Cornus wilsoniana Plus Trees by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance(NMR) Approach

The oil contents of twenty one samples of Cornus wilsoniana plus trees were analyzed by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance approach.The average oil content of fruit peel was 54.84% with the variation range of stand error 0.21%~0.92%,and that of variation coefficient 0.40%~1.52%;the average oil content of seed was 10.90% with the variation range of stand error 0.06%~0.22%,and that of variation coefficient 0.58%~2.17%.These results illustrated that the accuracy is satisfied in the determination of oil content of C.wilsoniana fruit using HY-10 Nuclear Magnetic Resonance instrument.Compared to the Soxhlet method,Nuclear Magnetic Resonance approach has many advantages such as small quantity of samples needed,rapid measurement,keeping samples intac,etc.Significant correlation between oil contents measured by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance approach and soxhlet method was observed,0.867 for fruit peel and 0.897 for seed.
