The Hierarchy of Writing Style in the Context of Chinese Li Culture

CHEN Yun(Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University,Guangzhou,510665)
The hierarchy of writing style in China developed from the hierarchical Li culture and infiltrated into the creation, dissemination and criticism of ancient literature. Its basic principle to maintain superiority or inferiority mainly derived from the values of Li culture, with the characteristics of stressing the political and moral significance of writing style instead of the structural form. The hierarchy revealed that Li culture tried to regulate values of literature and writing style, and it helped, objectively, the style and creation gain official identification and support in the Confucian society, thus exerting a profound influence on literary creation, criticism and innovation.
