Effects of different pollen sources on fruit-set and seed size in Guiwei Litchi

The effects of different pollen sources on fruit-set,edible rate and seed size in Guiwei Litchi were studied in this paper.The results showed that when pollinated by Feizixiao,Jiangjunli or Guiwei itself when,the fruit rate of Guiwei was lower relatively,which may be associated with their lower pollen germination rate and pollen-stigma affinity.When pollinated by Feizixiao,Nuomici,Heiye or Guiwei,the wilted-nut rate and edible rate of Guiwei fruit were higher.When pollinated by Huaizhi,Heiye,Hongxiuqiu,Xuehuaizi,Jiangjunli or Shangshuhuai,the wilted-nut rate of Guiwei fruit was decreased.These results further proved that the pollen source was one of the main cause for the normalization of Guiwei Litchi seed.
