Progress on the genetics of lodging resistance in rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Lodging is a common phenomenon in rice production, particularly in super rice breeding. Lodging seriously affects grain quality and yield. To study the traits associated with lodging, looking insight into the genetic basis of lodging resistance in rice and perform rice breeding for lodging resistance was the fundamental way to solve lodging problem. In this paper, we summarized the recent progress on the genetics of lodging resistance in rice and discussed the problems and future development.
