Photoelectrochemistry of CdS/Zn~(2+)-TiO_2 Composite Semiconductor Nanoporous Films Sensitized by Ru(bpy)_2(NCS)_2 Dye

The Zn~2+-doped TiO_2 nanoparticles were prepared with hydrothermal method. The photoelectrochemical properties of Zn~2+-doped TiO_2 nanoporous film electrode sensitized by Ru(bpy)_2·(NCS)_2, and Zn~2+-TiO_2/CdS composite semiconductor nanoporous films sensitized by Ru(bpy)_2(NCS)_2 were studied respectively. Doping, sensitizing and forming composite semiconductor particles produced red-shifts on the photocurrent action spectra. The conversion efficiency of light to electricity for the Zn~2+-TiO_2/CdS composite semiconductor nanoporous films was greatly improved and reached maximum.
