Objective To develop a novel anesthetic method for dentoalveolar surgery in anterior maxillary region. Methods A total of 46 children undergoing operation in anterior maxilla was randomly allocated to two groups. In experiment group, 2-3 ml 2% lidocaine were injected into palatal submucoperiosteum with 1 ml injector. Block anaesthesia of nasopalatine nerve was employed by regular method with 0.2-0.5 ml 2% lidocaine in control group. Pain was evaluated with VAS method. Statistics was performed by Radit analysis. Results The experiment group acquired complete anesthesis as compared to the control (P0.01). Conclusion Palatal pressure infiltrating anesthesia can be used as an adjuvant means for anesthesia in dentoalveolar surgery in anterior maxilla.
