Radiation Dose Level in the Environment of High Voltage Discharge

Sampling monitoring of the environment of high voltage discharge was carried out by means of thermoluminescent dosimetry (TLD). From the results of the monitoring, it can be seen that low energy x-ray can be detected during high voltage discharge. The exposure of x-ray is related to discharge types, distance apart from discharge source, electrode materials, discharge voltage, and discharge time and so on. The average exposure in the environment of high voltage discharge is in range of 0.54—8.67mR per test.
