The Prospect of Developing UHV transmission System in China

This paper compares the advantages and disadvantages between HVDC and UHV transmission system based on the situation in China and foreign experience. The reason why the development of foreign UHV transmition projects is in downturn and the technical difficulties of UHV are analyzed. The paper concludes that the development of UHV is technically feasible and economically reasonable and it is necessary to develop UHV in China are given.
