Experimental Study on Irreversible Electrical Breakdown of Malignant Tumor Cell under Steep Pulse

This paper describes the dynamic changes of SKOV3 cancer cell under steep pulse (generated by the steep pulse apparatus for tumor treatment) using inverted phase contrast microscope (IPCM) and finds that the cell is swollen and its nucleolus is shrunk in very short time. The study shows that the membrane of treated ceil is destructed and cytoplasm is sprayed outside under scanning electron microscope (SEM). The nucleus i.s swollen and its karyotheca is not integrated under transmission electron microscope (TEM). The mitochondria is also cavitated and swollen. It is clear that the steep pulse can result in irreversible electrical breakdown of tumor cell. It may be a new therapy method for tumor treatment.
