COMPARISON ALONG SOME METHODS ON ONLINE DETECTING OF COMPOSITE INSULATOR

CHENG YANGCHUN 1, LI CHENGRONG 1, SHEN XIAOJUN 1, CHEN MIAN 2, CHEN RUNHUA 2 (1.SCHOOL OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, NORTH CHINA ELECTRIC POWER UNIVERSITY, BEIJING 102206, CHINA; 2. FOSHAN POWER SUPPLY COMPANY, GUANGDONG ELECTRIC POWER GROUP, FOSHAN 528000, CHINA)  
THE OBSERVATION METHOD, ELECTRIC FIELD METHOD, ULTRAVIOLET IMAGE METHOD AND INFRARED IMAGE METHOD FOR INSULATOR ON LINE DETECTION IS PRESENTED BASED ON THE LABORATORY RESULT AND FIELD OPERATION CONDITION. THE MAIN APPLIED SCOPE OF THESE METHODS ARE ANALYZED. THE ULTRAVIOLET IMAGE METHOD AND INFRARED IMAGE METHOD IS SUITABLE FOR EXTERNAL INSULATION DEFECT AND INTERNAL INSULATION DEFECT RESPECTIVELY. THE OBSERVATION METHOD AND ELECTRIC FIELD METHOD IS SUITABLE FOR PARTIAL DISCHARGE DEFECT AND LOCAL OVERHEAT RESPECTIVELY. COMPARING WITH OTHER METHODS THE ELECTRIC FIELD METHOD HAS THE ADVANTAGES OF LOW COST, DIRECT DETECTION, ACCURATE, RELIABLE AND EASY OPERATION. IT CAN BE WIDELY USED IN CHINA.
