Nonlinear Variable Structure Controller of Static Var Compensator Cooperating with Excitation System of Generation

In accordance with the strong nonlinear and uncertain characteristics of the power system and the shortcomings of the exact linearization controller,a nonlinear robust variable structure controller for Static Var Compensator(SVC) cooperating with excitation system of generation,which can improve power angle stability of power system and voltage characteristics of SVC,is proposed.The dynamic compensation effect of external state observer(ESO) not only decouples controls of excitation system and SVC but also makes the control signals measurable locally.The simulation shows that the nonlinear robust variable structure controller can improve the dynamic stability of power system effectively.The proposed controller is robust to the change of network parameters and working points of system.
