Electric Intensity Threshold of Irreversible Electric Breakdown of Rabbit Liver VX_2 Tumor Under Steep Pulse Electric Field

To study the VX2 liver tumor of white rabbit,the finite element model of steep pulse in the homogeneous medium was established.The method of the combination of animal experiment and electric field simulation was adopted to treat the tumor with steep pulse electric field of the different peak values of voltage,and the electric field's covering area between the description of pathological section and theoretical simulation-model was compared to obtain the distribution of the steep pulse electric field in the tumor.It is confirmed the electric intensity threshold value leads to the irreversible electrical breakdown.Results show that the theoretical simulation and the animal experiment are anastomotic.According to the necrotic contour of tumor and the simulation results,the electric intensity threshold value of steep pulse leading to the irreversible electrical breakdown is 838 46V/cm.This offers a reference to choose suitable treatment parameters.As long as the minimum electric intensity in the tumor area is higher than the threshold value which tumor cell leads to the irreversible electrical breakdown,it could kill the tumor tissue effectively and damage the normal tissue lightly.
