Experimental Analysis on Charges Transported in Dielectric Barrier Discharge Using Unipolar Nanosecond-pulse Generator

Dielectric barrier discharge(DBD) excited by unipolar high voltage pulses is a promising approach for producing non-thermal plasma at atmospheric pressure.We investigated the transported charges in DBD using a magnetic compression solid-state pulsed power generator,and illustrated the transported charges and consumed powers under different experimental conditions.Moreover,we investigated the effects of dielectric barrier,air gap spacing,applied voltage amplitude,repetition rate,and applied voltage polarity on the transported charges in the discharge.The experimental results show that when the thickness of dielectric barrier,air gap spacing are larger and the applied voltage amplitude are higher,more charges are transported and more power is consumed;the transported charges are slightly affected by the applied voltage polarity and frequency;more charges are transported when the dielectric barrier adopts epoxy.
