HPLC assay for silver sulfadiazine in silver sulfadiazine cream

Objective To establish a method for content determination of silver sulfadiazine in silver sulfadiazine cream.Methods HPLC analysis was performed on an Aichrom C_(18) column(250 mm×4.6 mm,5 μm).The mobile phase consisted 0.1% phosphoric acid-acetonitrile(92:8)and the flow rate was 1.0 mL/min.The detective wavelength was at 254 nm and column temperature 30 ℃.ResultsThe calibration curve showed a good linear relationship in the range of 20-300 mg/L(r=0.9999)for silver sulfadiazine.The average recovery of silver sulfadiazine was 99.6%(RSD=1.06,n=5).Conclusion The method is simple,sensitive,reproducible and suitable for quality control of the cream.
