EFFECT OF SUBSTANCE P IN RAT SPINAL CORD ON THE REGULATION OF CELLULAR IMMUNITY

Objective: To observe the effect of substance P in rat spinal cord on cellular immunity. Mcth-ods:Capsaicin(CAP) and substance P (SP) antiserum were subcutaneously injected into neonate rats,and intrathecally injected into adult rats. The levels of interleukin-2(IL-2)in supernatants obtained from the mitogen-stimulated rat spleen cells were measured. Results: The levels of IL-2 were significantly higher than those in control groups (P0. 01),after CAP and SP antiserum were subcutaneously and in-trathecally injected respectively. Conclusion:The cellular immune function can be obviously enhanced by injecting CAP and SP antiserum subcutaneously into neonate rats and intrathecally into adult rats.
