Influence of Polirazation Mode Dispersion on the Transmission of Pulse at 40 Gbit/s

The influence of polarization mode dispersion(PMD) on the transmission of pulse at 40 Gbit/s is investigated by nonlinear coupled equation.The relations between PMD and maximum transmission distances and the relations between GVD or duty cycle and maximum transmission distances while PMD is kept constant were calculated by numerical simulation.
