A method of color image enhancement using color advanced retinex

A method for color image enhancement using color advanced Retinex has been developed.The new image with larger brightness and contrast can be obtained from an image whose exposure was not enough by enhancing the original image multi-scale Retinex.Then the new images are handled by a Brovey transform while keeping the proportions of red,green,and blue components according to the original images.As a quality criterion of evaluation,the information entropy of the images handled by the proposed method is 1.019±0.002 times larger than that of images handled by multi-scale Retinex only.
