STUDY ON MODIFICATION OF POM BY ULTRAFINE COMPOSITE POWDER

TPU/inorganic filler ultrafine composite powders was prepared by PAN-milling, in which TPU was existed for flats with a thickness of about 200 nm. The effect of ultrafine composite powder prepared by different inorganic fillers on notched impact strength of POM was studied. The results show that TPU/ calcium carbonate composite powder is the best for toughing POM. This is because in the blend TPU and calcium carbonate are shaped core-shell structure, which has good compatibility with POM. When the content of TPU/ calcium carbonate composite powder is 10%, the notched impact strength of POM can touch peak, (15.3) kJ/m~2.
