RECENT RESEARCH ADVANCES IN MANUFACTURING SUPER HYDROPHOBIC MEMBRANE AND APPLICATIONS

This paper gives a review of the recent progresses in manufacturing extra hydrophobic surface and applications. The extra hydrophobic membranes are yielded by combining the lowest surface energy Fluoro-polymer with surface topographies, which may be created by many techniques, such as adding filler, CVD, sol-gel, plasm sculpture, plasm deposition, aligned carbon nanotube method. For their unique excellent repellent character, hydrophobic membranes will be widely used in many fields, such as in nation defence, industry, agriculture and daily life.
