THE INFLUENCE OF ZEOLITE ON CRYSTAL BEHAVIOR OF PP/NUCLEATOR

The influence of different types of zeolite on crystal morphology of isotactic PP/β-nucleator system was studied.The wide angle X-ray(WAXD) and PM was used to characterize the crystal morphology and structure.The result of WAXD shows that zeolite A can efficiently induce the formation of β-pp,increase the relative content of β-crystal in PP and improve the crystal temperature remarkably;with the addition of zeolite MCM-41 and 10X,the relative content of β-crystal in the PP decreases evidently,but the result of PM shows that zeolite MCM-41 and 10X can make the size of crystallites smaller,which indicates that the two types of zeolite have the strong promoting effect on nucleating of PP;zeolite 13X and 10X have different nucleating activity because of their different surface free energy.
