Development of Polymer/Kaolinite Nanocomposites

Kaolinite is an important nonmetal.In this paper the structure and function of kaolinite were discussed.The latest research developments of the polymer/kaolinite nanocomposites were reviewed,and the preparation methods and characteriazation of polymer/kaolinite nanocomposites were introduced,too.In general,the thermal properties,crystal properties,flame retardancy and gasbarier properties of this new type nanocomposites are substantially superior to those of pure polymer matrix materials.Therefore,the polymer/kaolinite nanocomposites are deemed as a kind of novel material with tremendous potentiality.
