Preparation of Amphiphilic Star-Brush Copolymer with Four Arms of Poly(ethylene oxide)-b-[Poly(styrene-co-2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate)-g-Poly(ε-caprolactone)]

In recent years,well-defined amphiphilic star-brush copolymers have received considerable attention because of their unique structures and properties as well as various potential applications.The well-defined and novel amphiphilic star-brush copolymer with four arms of poly(ethylene oxide)-b-[poly(styrene-co-2-roxyethyl methacrylate)-g-poly(ε-caprolactone)](PEO_4-b-[P(St-co-HEMA)-g-PCL]_4) was successfully synthesized by a combination of anionic ring-opening polymerization(AROP),reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer radical polymerization(RAFT) and coordination-insertion ring-opening polymerization(CROP).The molecular weights of every segment of the star-brush copolymer were controllable,and the polydispersity was low.The final product and intermediates were characterized by GPC and ()~1H NMR in details.
