Development of Photonic Crystal Hydrogel for Detecting Metal Ions

Under certain external stimuli, the photonic crystal hydrogel will change the volume of the hydrogel, which will cause the photonic band gap with responsing. The use of photonic crystal hydrogels to detect metal ions has become a hotspot in the field of sensing and detection, and provides a possibility for real-time detection of metal ions. In this paper, the detection of metal ions in photonic crystal hydrogels is reviewed and proposed.
