A Mathematical Model of Canal Operation Control and Its System Property Analysis

Analysis and design of canal system automatic control usually are conducted with mathematical model of canal operation control. By analyzing dynamic water flow during canal operation, a method of computing equilibrium condition of canal operation is developed. By coupling the discretization and linearization of the control equation for canal transition process, the state space equation, which describes the water flow movement during canal operation control, is established. Linear control theory is employed to analyze the special property of canal operation control system, and to ascertain the least variables and samples needed during canal operation control.
