Coupling analysis of urbanization process to ecological environment of Korla City

Through constructing the index system of urbanization comprehensive index and ecoenvironment comprehensive index,based on the dynamic coupling process model,the quantitative analysis on the trend in coupling urbanization and ecoenvironment of Korla City,Xinjiang,China,from 2000 to 2010 was carried out. The results show that urbanization and ecoenvironment indexes display a linear increase all in all,the coupling development degree indexes also show a linear rising trend. The curves of urbanization comprehensive index and ecoenvironment indexes show that before 2006,the urbanization development was behind the ecoenvironment construction,which results in that the coupling harmony between urbanization and ecoenvironment of Korla City is always a low degree coupling harmony in the main. When the urbanization is developed to a certain stage,the ecoenvironment also gets improving,and their coupling relationship has only just enhanced gradually.
