Studies on Methods Determing Soil Nitrogen-supplying Capacities Ⅱ. The Relationships between Mineralizable or Mineral N Determined by Different Methods and Plant Uptake Nitrogen

The results of determination show that the mineralizable N determined by aerobic incubation,waterlogged incubation,NaOH-hydrolyzation diffusion,alkaline permanganate distillation,boiling water extraction,acid permanganate exraction and mineral N extracted by 1 mol /L KClcan all reflect soil nitrogen fertilities at certain degree. However,the effectiveness is different fordifferent methods. As a whole,NO_3~- -N minerlized after 1 or 3-week aerobic incubation andNH_4~+ - N released by alkaline permanganate distillation have given good results,and NH_4~+ - Nmineralized after 1 -week anaerobic incubation and Conway's diffusible N are unstable. InitialNO_3~- -N in topsoil has a certain role in reflecting sol nitrogen-supplying capacities. Also,ini-tial NO_e~- -N can obviously improve the correlations between the determinations by the othermethods and plant uptake nitrogen if it is added to them.
