Study on soil nutrient condition and fertilizer application in Chinese prickly ash orchard in Hancheng

According to the analysis results of 180 soil samples, the study has been carried out to investigate the soil nutrient condition, fertilizition structure and developing trend in the production area of prickly ash in Hancheng city in Shaanxi Province. The results showed that the fertilizer application amount and the soil nutrient content in these prickly ash orchard are variant significantly. Generally speaking, the content of soil organic matter and potassium is inadequate; the nitrogen content is in middle level ;the phosphorus is rich; micronutrients, such as zinc, boron and molybdenum are inadequate extremely. The nutrients are unbalanceable, the fertilizer use efficiency is comparatively low, and the soil fertility is generally poor. In order to improve the yield and quality of prickly ash in this area,the application amount of organic fertilizer ,potassium and micronutrient fertilizer must be increased.
